Description
Join Healthy Places CEO and Founder Rebel Black for a day of healthy, nutritious, fun and affordable cooking.
You will leave this course armed with skills, knowledge, tools and energy to go forth and share this wonderful program with others.
This one day jam packed experiential program will give you a comprehensive overview of health and nutrition (using existing Australian guidelines), meal and menu planning for health and budget, basic cooking skills, how to engage learners from diverse backgrounds, marketing the program and what it means to be a Mentor.
Cook Well Be Well has been developed using the latest Australian health research and has been written and reviewed by qualified adult education practitioners.
Who would be interested?
We believe anyone who wants to make a difference and has been looking for a way to do that would LOVE these programs!
Traditional Wisdom Mentors can be anyone in the community who has an interest in and some level of experience that relates to the Healthy Places Programs (in this case - cooking!).
Traditional Wisdom Mentors will ideally be:
- Passionate, enthusiastic, caring, adventurous, kind, determined and motivated to make a difference!
- Staff of existing services (eg case workerrs, social workers, community service or government staff)
- Small business owners/consultant who has an interest in program delivery/training
- Volunteers who work in human service organsiations or have an interest in training/program delivery
Included in your course fee - $999 inc gst
Course material, including additional reference material
Delicious catering for morning teach, lunch and afternoon tea
10 Cook Well Be Well Learners' kits (including Learners Manual, Certificate, Take Home goody bag including recipe book, meal planner and notebooks) to get you delivering programs IMMEDIATELY
12 months membership to the Healthy Places Network which includes ongoing phone/email and online support for Mentors

Join Healthy Places CEO and Founder Rebel Black for a day of veggie patch splendour - how to plan it, resource it, plant it, grow it, nourish it and cook it!
You will leave this course armed with skills, knowledge, tools and energy to go forth and share this wonderful program with others.
This one day jam packed experiential program will give you a comprehensive overview of how to establish a home veggie patch of any size, how to scrounge for free materials, plant and care for seedlings and transplant into gardens. You will learn about soil nutrition, cooking for over abundance, how to deliver the message to a varied audience and adapt your program to suit your needs!
We will also teach you what it means to be an Mentor - and how to market yourself and the program!
How to be an Urban Hippy has been developed using the latest gardening research and has been written and reviewed by qualified adult education practitioners.
