Teeth Grinding - Rebecca's New Beginning
Rebecca, started grinding her teeth when her wisdom teeth appeared. She was working long hours, stressed and in pain!
Rebecca, had her four wisdom teeth removed. Unfortunately the grinding continued. The constant teeth grinding and jaw clenching resulted in jaw pain, referred pain in her neck, scalp and blocked and ringing ears. Rebecca also suffered from tremendous headaches.
Rebecca’s pain not only affected her work and her social life, it also affected her sleep and her husband’s sleep too.
Rebecca was diagnosed with Bruxism and referred to a TMJ specialist. She was told that she had sprained her jaw with her constant grinding and clenching. The suggested treatment of mouth guards was going to be ongoing and costly.
After researching on the net, Rebecca found that Botox was another option, only this was going to cost $600 a pop and would only last a few months.
Rebecca then came across hypnotherapy for bruxism. Bruxism is the medical term for teeth grinding. The treatment was within her budget too! She had never been hypnotised before, but figured she had to give this a try.
Rebecca’s 2 sessions of hypnotherapy fixed the problem! She was amazed.
Rebecca said “ Paul, the hypnotherapist, put me in a relaxed state through visualisation. I laid in a comfy recliner and before long I was under, I was completely relaxed, my body felt a little heavy, but it was quite pleasant”.
Paul Brickhill, then asked Rebecca a series of questions and guided her through visualisations to address Rebecca’s underlying issue that was causing the bruxism. “Paul did not make me cluck like a chicken or anything. I still felt in complete control of what I said and did, I woke up feeling refreshed and I could remember everything that happened” said Rebecca. After the first session Rebecca felt relaxed and found that the grinding had reduced straight away.
She also found that she was less stressed about normal things too, like driving her husband’s car!
After her second visit to Paul her teeth grinding and jaw clenching reduced dramatically and she found that she did not need any further sessions.
Rebecca, now relaxed and living pain free is enjoying her new beginning!
Paul Brickhill Clinical Hypnotherapist says, "Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool that helps unlock the unconscious drivers that lead to such problems as teeth grinding, smoking, and food cravings as examples. It's important to note that in the state of hypnosis you cannot be made to do anything you do not wish to do, so in short, you have to be consciously in agreement with what's being suggested"
