Why Would You Invest In A Life Coach?
I promise I not going to go into some heated sales pitch here (I am not particularly good at sales anyway) but as someone who was sceptical about coaching and now works as a Full time Life Coach myself, I am happy to share why I believe Coaching is both beneficial and changed my life.
When I first engaged a Life Coach, I was about to lose my job and get divorced and expected my coach to hold my hand, help me find a new job and hopefully find a happy relationship. However, I was in for a rude awakening as was I in for an interesting journey!
One of the most common processes that a coach will work with you on is setting goals. For me, this need to be something which inspires my clients, not just something that they feel they ‘should’ do. This is the first part of working out the reasons why a client hasn’t taken action to achieve these goals before. Often this is down to our own negative belief patterns and thoughts we hold about ourselves. For me, this was a illuminating journey where I discovered that I had some deep seated beliefs such as not feeling good enough, worthy or even attractive enough!
This is where a good coach can really help. Investigating and removing these toxic beliefs, identifying self sabotaging behaviours and replacing patterns with new beliefs and behaviours which truly serve the person you are today can have an instant effect in helping people feel good about themselves. Just the realisation that you are carrying around old outdating beliefs can really make such a difference.
Each Coaching session should also be tailored to your own needs and would often include topics such as values, thoughts, beliefs, actions and very importantly, your fears. Identifying your fears and breaking them down is a transformational process. Often it is our fears which hold us back from being the person we really want to be so it is key to bring these out into the open.
My objective in working with my clients is for them to really start to like themselves. You may be surprised to learn that most people treat other people better than they treat themselves. We really are our worst enemy! I also work with my clients helping them trust in their abilities, believe in themselves and become more confident.
Each coaching session should also end with personalised action steps for you to complete prior to your next session – perfect to keep you motivated and on track.
In conclusion, having a coach will give you a fabulous opportunity to talk to someone confidentially and assist you in realising how fabulous you really are. Seriously, this is about investing your YOU and your future and remember, you deserve it!
